A stiff thoracic spine will cause the neck, back and shoulder muscles and joints to compensate by working harder which can lead to injury. Prevention is always key, so check out our Video of the Day for an excellent but simple exercise to help strengthen and build mobility in the spine.
In this standing twist we want our lower body stable – in this case, we used a Body by Yoga block between the upper thighs to keep them engaged. Adding exercises like this to your daily movement routines can help improve your posture and prevent back pain.
