I am a retired military veteran who has been through a lot. I was at my wit’s end because I have been having mobility issues. I felt like the world was taking things from me and I was not getting anything from it. Now, I am hooked. Thank you very much for being in the right time and place to help a fellow guy grab back the reins of his life. Much appreciate it for sure!

Doing yoga usually makes me want to hurt the person that is making me do yoga. It is just really was not my thing. I came to this program after an short run of an antibiotic destroyed my body leaving me with weakness and tendon issues. Yoga was recommended by someone who had gone through the same issues from the same drug. I really like this program and he gives really good clear instructions. I’ve tried Yoga many times of the years (hating it every time) and this guy makes it enjoyable.

Highly recommend to anyone at any fitness level to help solve pain issues or just get stronger and feel better. Note: if you are using it to combat any health issues, like I am, recommend checking with doctor first. I had to go slow to get to where I am now.

Dean’s teaching style is perfect… his narrative helps me learn easily and with confidence. After listening many times, I find myself anticipating what he’s going to say, so that I’m integration the instruction. The pace is good. The expectations are slightly challenging but reasonable. I always feel better after finishing a workout with Dean.

This just arrived yesterday, so I haven’t been through the whole program yet, but I’m really impressed with the thorough explanation of poses and modifications if needed. He emphasized that no previous experience is needed and no level of flexibility is needed to begin. I’m looking forward to gaining flexibility and strength.

This poses are great and it does feel like a workout afterwards. However there are two problems; he talks way too much and you will work out one side of your body longer than the other.

This video is more or less a waste of time. I get the impression that users will either love it or hate it. Squeezing a foam block between the thighs and not arching one’s back is not my idea of a good time. Afterwards it goes requires something resembling a pushup . . . from boring to too advanced. I say: find a better video.

I have purchased other yogo program’s in the past and they sit untouched in the drawer. But this I use all the time, especially for stress. Dean has an easy approach to help you get in to yoga positions. If you have never taken a yoga class I highly recommend. I have purchased his other two program’s he has, Yoga Fix, a five day 20 minute work out and Yoga Strong. Better than any yoga classes I have ever taken.

It’s 2021 and I was challenged to do 100 days of this program. I am overweight about 135lbs from my body type and have no flexibility. I can’t touch the bottom of my knee caps. I am doing the Yoga Sharpen for 10 days to work on fundamentals. I currently cannot complete the program without stopping. I have no core. AND I can tell you that just by completing these fundamentals steps I feel really good about where this is headed. If you are overweight I highly suggest following along on a tablet or phone until you understand the poses – as I cannot keep my eyes on what he’s doing and have my head facing the floor. You will need a Yoga Block – a cheap addition to this great platform. I have never done Yoga before and even made fun of it – just from a few days in I can see I was a complete @$$ about it. It’s truly a hard workout.

Got this program as a gift. Another easy to follow yet challenging set of workouts from Dean and BodybyYoga. We also own YogaEdge and YogaStrong as we appreciate the clarity of instruction, pace and degree of challenge offered in each workout. I highly recommend this program and the others from BodybyYoga for people new to yoga as well as those who have been doing yoga to complement their other workouts.

I have been using these programs, streaming classes and building a yoga practice with Dean Pohlman’s materials for over 5 years. The classes that target shoulders and knees have been exceptionally helpful and Dean’s fitness approach has removed the yoga mysticism and showed me the benefits of adding yoga to my fitness regimen.

Dean completely changed the way I think of Yoga. It’s not at all a namaste type of yoga, but instead works on becoming more flexible which is so important, and also strengthens your body with pretty demanding work outs even for someone who is in good shape. Really recommend this. Personally I like the videos you can do at home vs at a yoga studio where I get nervous and have instructors coming over and trying to bend you whatever which way during the class. This works for me

I’m a Silver Back Gorilla, throw more weights on the pile kind of guy. I PROMISE you, that this Yoga thing is for real lol. You build a different kind of strength. I’ve only been doing it for 2 weeks now on the days that I don’t lift and I feel great when I do it. I also feel ashamed by how tight I actually am. I recommend this to any muscle guys out there.

I purchased Yoga Fix from Body by Yoga about a month ago and love it. I decided to try another of their offerings and must say it is NOT up to the quality of the Yoga Fix disk. I was very disappointed. It would appear to be a reworked earlier disk. Switches to black and white and is not a professionally produced as Yoga Fix. Therefore, I find it distracting and hard to follow in my initial run of the disk. I would highly recommend the Yoga Fix disk but sadly would pass on this one. Not worth it.

The workouts are slow paced and boring. Most moves are very simple and won’t build much strength. Good for stretching hamstrings and back. That is about it. This kind of money for basically three workouts is too much.

Great video. Started yoga with this video at age 68 after injuring right leg. Initially, I did not like it, but figured
I would stick with it for a month. Glad I did. Did yoga sharpen a few times to get basics right. Now do
yoga stretch and yoga strength daily. Has helped my back and knees, plus overall strength. Don’t think
I had any core muscles before starting these workouts. Now I can do balancing exercises. Notice a little
improvement daily. Building up core muscles has taken stress off my knees and back. My posture is better and
I am able to easily do household and yard chores. Including using a 3 gallon backpack sprayer without pain.
Instructor’s pointers started to make more sense after my muscles got some conditioning. I need to continue to use video to make sure I hold postures long enough and don’t try to rush through exercises. A little bit daily works for me for my physical and mental well-being.

This series of yoga workouts is great for beginners, but moves a little faster than some of the beginning yoga videos do. It works well for younger beginners or as the next step when you’ve been doing the very easy workouts for a few weeks and are ready to progress.

I bought this program for a yoga class for senior women. We rely on programs only for instruction. After many years of using the same program, this one has been a much-needed change. We are learning more of the finer points of body alignment and form.

I really like this so far! I’ve always had trouble with my knees during lunges. Dean gave excellent advice and used a block during the foundations section that I’ve been able to carry over into circuit training! I like that the advice will help prevent further strain and injury. Thank you! Well worth the price of purchasing this program.

I’ve been using Yoga Boost for about three weeks now, and I’m loving it. This is a big deal, because although I’m a lifelong fitness guy, the one physical practice I’ve NEVER loved is yoga, though I’ve tried several times before. I’ve always come away feeling frustrated and unsuccessful. Body by Yoga has changed all that for me. The workouts are definitely challenging, but I enjoy them immensely, and feel great both during and after the classes. I’m starting to really improve, and feeling incredible changes in the way I stand and move throughout the day. Superior workouts, superior instruction.

I love this program. Deans explanations for the moves are very helpful. I’ve tried numerous yoga program’s and didn’t fine anything I liked until now. I’ve always been fairly fit however had a hip surgery last year and needed something to help get my strength and flexibility back. It has done wonders for my strength and I am feeling so much better. I highly recommend.

My wife and I have been using Yoga Fix with Dean Polhman for four weeks and have jsut added Yoga Boostto our daily program. We are both 76 years old and are feeling the benefits of using Dean’s program.
We would strongly recommend both for your exercise program. Dean modifies his yoga instruction to suit beginners and more mature people like ourselves and his Yoga Boost contains enough advanced yoga exercises to satisfy the more advanced.

These programs are great for yoga beginners. Dean explains the poses as he’s doing them and you do feel as though you are getting a workout. There is very little of the “imagine you’re a tree, extending your limbs to the sun…” which is what really turns me off yoga. This is the physical workout with lots of stretching and strength building. I really enjoy this, especially the relaxation session which I try to do at the end of the day to help sleep.

I do yoga at the studio every now and then, so I thought this beginner program was the right spot for me. It definitely is for pure beginners. Anyone who hasn’t done yoga at all before would benefit from this. He shows your proper form and get you into poses anyone can work on. I should have purchased something a little more advanced. Even a few classes a year was enough to surpass this program. I think what would have made this 5 stars is if at least one of the 4 classes was a little more advanced.

I am 77 years old and have been taking yoga classes for over 30 years. Since the virus and social distancing, I decided to try a couple of programs so that I could see and listen to someone. Best move that I have made. Dean is probably the best instructor I have worked with. His demonstrations are excellent making sure the body is in proper form. It certainly improved the way I am doing postures. Thank you.

I bought this disc to replace a begining Yoga disc I’d worn out. I will be a perennial novice at Yoga, I started late in life. I was attracted to the series of discs and the opportunity to advance. I am still doing the first disc, because it has toned me. It’s a perfect mix of poses, Dean does a magnificent job of explaining them, in 22 minutes I’m refreshed and I’ve worked some muscles. I like to mix up my fitness routine, and I work full time so I enjoy the efficiency and results of the first disc. I absolutely plan to move on to the others. However, I’m not one to rush into things.

I’ve used the Yoga Basics and Stretching 3-4 times now. These are really good stretches for the hip flexors and other muscles. I’m not a flexible person and always dealing with tight muscles so I’m hoping this helps in the long run. So far I am pleased with my purchase. I hope someday as I get better at Yoga I can move up to the harder workouts included in the video.

I started doing yoga because I have problems with my feet, and as I’ve gotten older, more injuries everywhere. Yoga has really helped me to build strength, balance and flexibility. I especially enjoy Dean because he explains well and gives you choices for the level of difficultly that is right for you. I like that he does not make it a “spiritual” or meditative experience – just about exercise and overall wellness.

Honestly I didn’t really like it. I don’t really feel like this beginner friendly. And it doesn’t tell you ahead of time that you will need equipment to go with the workout. I also tried going online to use the website and some of the things they offered with program isn’t even on the website. If I had to do this again I would look for something else.

The whole point, for me, of doing yoga is relaxation and stretching to lessen the pain in my feet and legs. I can not stand the breathy voice yoga instructors that say insanely irritating things like “happy face”. These videos are done in a normal calm voice with very clear instruction. Great programs. Can’t wait to try out the free bonus videos. I will certainly be looking for more stuff from them later on.

The yoga is fine, the instruction is fine. But ladies, if you were hoping to see some hot male chesty action while yoga-ing, you’ll be disappointed (as I was). He’s shirtless on the case photo, but he keeps his shirt on throughout all the exercises. 🤷‍♀️

It is the first time that I have done Yoga, Dean is a very good instructor, he tells you exactly which muscles you are working or stretching. As an athlete it has helped allot, I don’t have the stiffness and soreness the day after anymore. I like that this program has four 25ish minute workouts. Last year I committed to doing yoga once a week. This year I’m committing to 15 minutes or more a day. I bought this program to add some variety in my workout and was nicely surprised that the workouts are almost the amount of time I’m wanting to do and do add variety. I’m starting to feel a lil more energy and a lil less pain ache. I’m a stylist so my upper back gets to hurting some days.

My daughter loves Yoga and although I have never done yoga I thought I would buy this program and work out with her to try this out.
I must say the first experience with this program was fantastic. usually when I work out I look at the time hoping to be done fast and dread working out for 30 minutes. It was 25 minutes into it and poof we were done. I was a bit disappointed!!. I wanted more!!!! I was thrilled that I found something that I can actually enjoy. it says you should workout 3 days a week. I actually told my daughter I will be working out every day. I will continue to order other program’s as soon as I get used to this one. “its for beginners”. so I look forward to getting in the best shape of my life.

I purchased this program last year and have been meaning to write a review. I’ve been doing yoga for about 7 years, along with weights and cardio. I do yoga about 3 times a week and find this program excellent. The instruction is very clear and thorough. No matter how much I think I know a pose, I find I learn something very basic with this program every time I do it. It’s excellent as a refresher or as a beginning yoga program.

Tired and bored of the existing yoga program’s my husband and I have, we were looking for something different and challenging to mitigate his existing back issues (Also, to help build music and loose weight). Buying this on a whim, we started working on this program a couple of days ago. Dean is a great instructor who mindfully walks you though the steps. Geared towards people who are neophytes at yoga (which we are; we started a few months ago), Dean shows you the step-by-step, minimally evasive techniques to great stretches without over-exerting yourself. Within in minutes of the instruction, the sweat was pouring from our bodies…and that was just for the stretching portion of the program!

I highly recommend this program set for beginners who aren’t sure what to do as well intermediate/advanced yoga. Dean knows what he’s doing and wants to make sure you’re doing the right things to maximize the experience.

I love the videos. They have quick 20 minute workouts and can be done almost anywhere. Dean is great explaining the exercises and movements. I have been doing yoga now for several months both from the videos and at my local gym. As a man in his 40s I think I’m more flexible now than I was in my 20s. I look forward to hitting the mat on an almost daily basis. I think if I continue I’ll be able to do these movements well into my golden years

I enjoy the shorter format and efficiency of this video series and the instructor despite the over hyped cover photos is very personable, knowledgeable and approachable. I found after going through the videos that it is VERY beginner and not very challenging. I wish I could return it and try the higher level series by the same instructor and producer.
I guess my yoga knowledge is more intermediate than beginner, so the responsibility is on me for not realizing that before the purchase. My background is has been Bryan Kest’s Power Yoga and I wanted something faster paced and ore efficient, but not less challenging.

I have just did one each of the workouts and I love it! I have always done pilates mixed with a little yoga and lots of cardio and weight training… so I have some strength. I was looking to do more Yoga to compliment my workouts and this is perfect. Even after just 1 week of using these workouts I feel stronger and more flexible!
I am 62 and female and I FEEL GREAT!

I finally had a chance to play the program. I was putting it off because I thought it would be hard and challenging. It is hard and challenging but exactly what I needed. His instructions are so clear, he gives you time to go from position to position, he provides really invigorating steps. I’m already sweating and I’m not even done with the first session. For anyone who thinks they can’t, buy this program because he proved that I can. I’ve done yoga for some time but not consistently. I can now practice in the comfort of my home and it will keep me on a program. I really love it.

I really liked the detailed explanations of moves, tailored to skill or flex levels. I thoroughly appreciate the LACK OF “spiritual nonsense” or thanking your body and all the other stuff that is typical in Yoga program’s. Thank you, Thank you.

I have two of these program’s and it will be all I need for quite awhile. I tossed out my other Yoga program’s . The nonsense was just too unbearable. I think you hit a homerun with people that feel the same way I do although I am sure there is a big market that enjoy all that other stuff.

my only complaint, which is a small one as I know you work on improving these is that the intro music is way too loud compared to the rest of the program. It would be more pleasant if the sound was at the same level.

I have taken about a half-year of beginning classes at a gym but I wanted to practice at home. I found this title on a top ten list and I’m so glad I did. The video explains proper body alignment and muscle focus very well. I feel like I understand now which muscles to activate and how. My 11-year-old daughter, my husband with joint problems and I can all use it because he provides reassuring modifications as he teaches. Excellent video. A must for all beginners.

My Situation–A 51 yr old woman working towards getting back to the advanced fitness level I was prior to cancer treatment two years ago. A “home gym” fitness junkie, my menu included Cathe Friedrich, P90x, Insanity, etc. I also have a very physically challenging job that was beginning to feel even More SO than usual. Plus, sporting more weight than I’d like due to slowing down. Having returned to weight training and various cardios, I decided to stop ignoring the one thing I never liked–stretching and slowing down for balance and functionality.
I have always admired yoga as the valid art form that it is for wellness; those who practice certainly exhibit the evidence! I had no patience, and also was turned off by some of the dreamier and “hypnotic” presentations available.
I like this guy–his instruction is detailed, focused and constant–something I needed in terms of getting the most out of Why and what is supposed to be happening during the poses. It makes me focus on all the details of the movements and poses and makes it a more active, productive event for me. The modifications are plentiful and he actively demonstrates them instead of merely describing them. His language is straightforward and non-scary.
And how I feel after having done all of the flows in rotation now for weeks, in conjunction with my weight training and cardio cross-training is exceptionally better than my die-hard approach before. The overall result is a more well rounded, flexible state because the yoga unifies and enhances the benefits of the two pieces. As he states, it enhances the benefits of the traditional training and also helps fill in the blanks that are missing; i.e. imbalances that one tends to ignore such as one rotater is tighter than another. And then it helps address them:)
Now I view the rest days as productive and important, and look forward to purposeful movement that makes me feel better and stronger. I’m embracing the added dimension of yoga as the essential piece to my fitness plan on my way to getting back in shape. I wish I had done that years ago; could have skipped a lot of inexplicable soreness. I appreciate his presentation in every way, and have purchased the other two programs as well.

My husband and I are 49 and 51 and workout regularly. As we’ve aged, however, injuries are always looming. If years gone by, I’ve tried yoga classes, but during the first session, the instructors pressed hard to get me to move past my body’s beginner ability causing pain and discomfort and no return to the class.
This video allows that nubies might not be as flexible as tenured yoga enthusiasts. The instructor demonstrates the desired pose plus ways to reach that level without injury, pain or discomfort.
The bonus is that I can work out at any time of day and not rely on class schedules.

My husband and I decided to try this together and we both ended our first work out in a light sweat and feeling it in our cores and thighs. I also felt the workout in my upper arms.

The instructions are clear and slow enough that you have time to adjust and reference your poses and I felt as a total beginner, it gave me just enough of a workout to challenge myself without getting discouraged.

The bonus program also has alternative poses using a chair to help you get the poses correctly if you’re not very flexible and so you know what they’re supposed to feel like if you do them correctly. The instructor will tell you where you’re supposed to feel stretching.

The program also comes with a bonus website to visit and they give you workout plans that tell you which exercises to do, for how long, and how many days a week to do them so if you’re like me and have literally no knowledge of where to begin, they have you covered. They tell you what workout plan to use if you use yoga alone, yoga plus running, or yoga plus cross training.

The only thing I would suggest is have a full-length mirror handy. I was constantly telling my husband to keep his back straight and he helped me align my hips correctly. You really need a mirror to make sure you do it correctly. The program also utilizes blocks and straps – we improvised with literal blocks and belts since we didn’t realize we’d need them before starting.

I have been doing this daily since I received it. Rotating through the videos and changing it up. I can truly say I completely enjoy it! Dean is easy to follow and has a very pleasant way of making you feel comfortable. ahe does a great job of explaining how your body should feel and what parts you should be focusing on. I feel relaxed after I am done but can definitely feel like I have been working my muscles because it very obvious the next day in my soreness. I believe this is a fantastic video for beginners like myself and it’s made me feel excited about learning more in more about yoga and what it can do for my body.

I found this very easy to follow. I have done so many yoga videos in the past and very few take the time to really go over exactly how to hold the pose and which muscles to engage. I have only done the first “work out” and have been for the past week, but I have learned so much more than with other videos I have done.

Pleasant surprise here, I have a wife and teen-age daughter who practice yoga, and I have tried it with them a few times. But, I was not into the whole yoga studio thing with instructors and hot stinky rooms. After I received this video I set up mats with my kid and we started at the beginning. After three days on the first lesson, we moved to the next stage. Results? I have done yoga 7 out of the last 9 days. My hips are looser, my spine feels like its freeing up and my shoulders are getting a real work out! I’m 53. I was always athletic, I know you get out what you put in, I’m working the system and look forward to my half our sessions. I like the instructor, he explains the positions and helps you get it right without hurting yourself. Unlike many videos that sit on the shelf, this one is getting used. Check it out, good stuff.

As a 67 year old male who’s last visit to a gym was at school over 50 years ago I bought this program more in hope then anticipation!
I needed some form of “gentle” exercise that would leave me more exhilarated then exhausted, more agile then agonized, and I believe that in “Yoga Boost” I have found a system that really suits me.
I am finding that although I have only been using this program for a relatively short period of time, I already feel more vibrant both physically and mentally.
I am looking forward to receiving more benefits as I progress through this well presented course.
I rarely leave reviews on my purchases but this is a really good system IMHO.

At age 63, I have been a sportsman since I was 10. Physical exercise has been a major part of my health regime AND my life. After developing a lower back problem about a year ago, my younger sister asked whether I ever tried yoga. She mentioned that many athletes were turning to yoga as a form of workout, owing to the obvious advantages of the inherent low risk of personal injury. To be honest, only a back injury could convince me to try it, as yoga exercise always conjured images of middle aged people (younger than I), contorting themselves while humming mantras simultaneously- certainly not my idea of a workout! ‘Yoga boost’ changed all that! I have been actively doing Dean’s video workout for about 8 months and have recently been joined by my wife- can’t tell her age, you know how sensitive ladies are about these things- and our 10 year old daughter whose efforts I cannot help but admire! I cannot describe how much these workouts have improved my overall fitness and ability to relax-what a bonus! It is amazing what natural stretches can do to tone muscles, increase strength and improve balance. From the first: “Inhale, put your hands up…” to “that’s great, you did a ton of exercise..” it’s fun and serious at the same time; it’s a sweat, an intense workout, while relaxing. There’s no other way to describe it. Most importantly, positive results become evident in quick time, almost unbelievably so! Belly bulges, love handles, cellulite legs all disappear-I promise!- if you dedicate 20 minutes every other day to these lovely workouts illustrated in the video. Dean emphasizes ‘eliminating backpain’. For this relief alone, yoga is worth it, for the myriad other benefits, it’s truly priceless. I unreservedly recommend giving it a try, regardless of your age!

I absolutely love this program, seriously I can’t even rave enough about it. I’ve had it for a little over a week and by day 3 I noticed a big difference with my body, I wasn’t as stressed or achey, my tension headaches were nearly gone and I slept better than I have in YEARS, considering I suffer from insomnia, this was an unexpected treat. He’s very easy to follow, has a soothing, patient tone and really explains each step and how it helps your body while also showing different modifications for any injuries or discomfort you may have. I have a fairly small at-home gym program collection ranging from P90x to Zumba to Julienne Micheals and this is probably my absolute favorite. I’ve tried yoga before and always felt disappointed having spent more time pausing the videos than actually participating because they were too fast paced and didn’t explain wth was happening which makes this program so awesome, there isnt any of that, in fact, I look forward to it and have started using it 2x a day! There isn’t any background music which I think is great, some might not but it isnt hard to pop some on at home if that’s your thing. I find it feels more intimate, or personal, like you would with an actual face to face trainer, I can hear what he’s saying and learn and grow without all that distraction that’s in EVERY excersise program I’ve come across. There’s 4 different segments, the very first is an in depth session on all the moves but is still a workout, just the launching pad for the rest of the program so you don’t have to struggle to figure it out even though he stays very in depth through all segments, the 2nd and 3rd are more workout, I’ve sweat and felt my muscles shake from the challenge but not in that I’m-going-to-throw-up-a-lung type way which I’m so over, mentally and physically, I just don’t want to feel that super intense strain on my body anymore. The 4th is a de-stress segment, for after another workout or whenever you need to just relax and stretch your muscles after a crappy day,I wouldnt say it’s a “work out” but I totally recommend, I use it daily. All the aches and pains I grew used to and ignored are essentially gone, I don’t feel like I’m a 100 yrs old anymore, I feel happier and healthier, less broken and weighed down. It’s been fanstastic! Oh, also a little quick background on me if that’ll help you decide if this is for you – I’m a 29yo work-at-home mom/step mom, my husband and I have 8 kids ranging from 19 to 7, I’ve always loved working out but the past couple years I’ve really let myself go by being too busy or too tired and I gained 80 lbs during that time, ish! I’ve since lost some of that weight but still felt bored and restless by my other workout programs and this is exactly what I needed to keep me going and really I guess, aside from saying hey, try it, it’s awesome, I also wanted to say thanks.

I have been suffering for many years now with major digestive issues. Most recently, I’ve been told to radically alter my diet and as a result, I am starting to lose some weight. Being a man, I wanted to do my best to maintain muscle with my new eating regiment. I also need to keep nerves and stress at bay. I’ve found that this program is helping to accomplish both goals. It’s perfect for a beginner such as myself and the length of each session is just right. I’ve already ordered more program’s from this company so that I have a variety available to use. I’m hoping that the positive changes I am already seeing continue.

I stumbled across BBY on Amazon, and so very thankful that I did. I’m not a man, but Dean’s “man yoga” is exactly what I’ve been looking for all along – yoga for fitness without the all of the “yoga” hoopla. I am really enjoying his style. He is very likable and easy to listen to (and look at for that matter … a bonus for the ladies ;). For me, there is nothing annoying to get in my way, which is why I’d abandoned yoga so many times before. Dean provides the perfect amount of clear instruction, explanation on technique, why you’re doing it, what you should (and shouldn’t) feel, injury prevention, modifications (for both easier AND more of a challenge), etc. These are great work outs for building strength, balance and flexibility. He’s even cool enough that my teens (daughter and son) want to do it with me. I’m only three+ weeks in, and can already tell a huge difference in my strength, see daily progress / growth in my ability and balance. My son is very athletic, and I love that this appeals to him too.

About me: I’m 51, 5’3”, right at 120 lbs, and although I’m not much overweight, I am out of shape right now (strength and muscle tone). I’ve spent the last 18 years having babies and raising kids, without consistent exercise. I positively don’t have time to go somewhere every day, and although I do like group exercise, a group of women is not my thing. I quit running, and exercise in general, about 4 years ago after a fall down the back stairs caused torn ligaments in my knee and ankle, along with multiple broken bones in my foot. I have mild arthritis (hands, knees, and left hip), and know that osteoporosis is a concern for me. I have always been, and still am very limber, but have never been able to do a push-up and balancing poses are a challenge! For a number of reasons, I’m done with running and high impact, but need and enjoy fast walking, strength conditioning, weights, flexibility, balance training etc. My first goal is to be able to do push-ups.

Anyway, I’ve found the right “guy”, I can fit this in everyday before my shower, and I’m really enjoying the workouts. I started with Boost, and very quickly purchased Yoga Strong (more challenging for me than Yoga Boost) and Yoga Edge. I will likely add the variety of workouts available through the Dean Pohlman online membership once I progress further. I have always struggled with upper body strength and have never been able to do real push ups, but can see that I am really making significant progress with my upper body strength and with the balance poses in only a short time. I was looking around on the BBY / MFY website when I found a recent post with information and videos on how to diagnose your balance issues, and specific exercises to do to help. Dean has a lot of great resources out there and puts a lot of thought into addressing issues you might be having (both in the video workouts and online). He makes you feel very comfortable and normal if it’s hard or you can’t quite get it, and offers up encouragement and suggestions. I really like that he provides constant reminders and instruction what muscles to engage and how to increase the intensity of the pose. I’m so impressed and pleased with his method and the workouts. The production of the video may not be exactly perfect, but it’s good, and Dean is awesome, so I’m thrilled and would recommend him (and this video) without hesitation. Just try it, and stick with it. You will see results!

ps: I have three senior women in my life in their 70’s-early 80’s. None of them could do this. The workouts on this program are not that kind of beginner workout. A certain amount of overall fitness, balance (stability), and mobility are required. The purchase of this video does give you access to YogaStart (online video free of additional charge), which is yoga using a chair (for absolute beginners). This same video workout is available for purchase on Amazon digitally (for streaming or download), but does not seem to be available for purchase in program format. Even so, with using a chair, some of it still is not doable for the seniors in my life. I’m too concerned with their balance and fear of them falling. I wish that Dean would do a program just for less fit older seniors with very limited mobility using a chair … whatever that may look like (not much I’m sure, but better than nothing for some of them). My senior women wouldn’t stream anything from a computer or TV, even with me setting it up and showing them how. Guess it is what it is.

The muscles pulled on my rib cage causing pain in my sternum making it painful to breath. This pain was aggravated by exercise. I was seeing a massage therapist twice monthly for relief. It helped some, then I stumbled upon Dean Pohlman. I picked up a copy of Yoga Boost. It advertised yoga for those who can’t touch their toes. I started out slow and skeptical, I’ve never done yoga before. “Stand up straight toes touching, heels about an inch a part. Palms faceing forward, shoulders pinned into your back.” (First instruction on the video) My body could do none of this. Mine were heels touching, toes about four inches apart (tightness in the hips). Pinning the shoulders was a struggle as well, but I persisted. (By the way all of this was Dr. approved) Long journey, short tale: today my toes touch, today I can pin my shoulders, today I focus on standing and sitting straight, shoulders back (even at the computer. And my toes touch too). Bonus my balance is much improved as well.
The other day I was headed into the Dr for a checkup and realised how very little pain I was feeling. The tightness in my shoulders is gone and the pain in my sternum as well. (oh yes and I’m losing weight as well). A bonus!
Thank you Dean and the team behind him.
Oh yes, along the way I picked up Yoga Strong. The adventure continues. (one more thing, if you buy any of Dean’s videos, and I hope you do, pick up a yoga block along the way, you’ll be glad you did)

This video is excellent for people of all levels in yoga. You don’t have to be flexible like all those Instagram Yogis. All you really need is a positive attitude and motivation. The workouts are fantastic and I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fitness and yoga in general. Also, Dean is an awesome and knowledgeable instructor. I also highly recommend anything Dean Pohlman!

For a beginner and age 60 I find the stretch program excellent. He seems to know when I need reminded of tucking in my toes or straightening up, etc. I have not liked yoga in the past. But I like this version.

I ‘ve not worked through the whole set of workouts yet., but the instructor presents the moves in a easy to follow fashion. I tried other videos and I can’t stand the trippy yoga music and the worship of the Lord of the Yoga pants. This is straight to the point and offers enough modifications so that if you are older (it’s a relative number ) over weight or dealing with some aches and pains it is doable. I have lower back pain that flares up and noticed an improvement after a couple of workouts. Looking forward to more workouts .

I bought this program for my husband who is overweight and inflexible; it did not work for him. He couldn’t do at least half of the poses. His belly does get in the way of a lot of yoga poses, and so I have since looked for a “plus-size” yoga video for him (granted, all the ones I’ve found so far are for women). However, I have enjoyed this yoga video. It’s a good 30-minute workout for me. I am not experienced in yoga, but I consider myself to be semi-active and pretty flexible. The workouts challenge some of my flexibility and also improve some of my muscle strength – especially since they are slightly geared for men with more upper-body strength. I like the calm voice that gently explains the moves and reminds you of ways to do the moves correctly. I also like the calm music in the background. He does a lot of the Warrior poses and often uses the term “goalpost arms,” which seems “manly” if that’s what you’re looking for. He does use a block and a strap at times, though in my opinion you can do the vast majority of the moves without those props.

Dean never shuts up, and the commentary is not particularly value-added for a beginner. He is vague on which muscle group should be exercised.
The production quality is poor and makes insufficient use of available technologies to illustrate where on the body the practitioner should feel a tautness or a release. The shift from using color in the oblique views to using black-and-white in the frontal view is absolutely jarring and unnecessary. I thought my program player dropped off or something.
I’ve used the video a few times and will probably stop. I’m still in the return window and may just return it. About all I use it for now is pacing, and even that is questionable since some moves seem really rushed and others drag on for too long – if the desire is an overall balanced stretch.
If you’re a beginner, and want good instruction on how to start yoga, this is not the program for you.

Best yoga ever. I am not a frew frew tree hugging yoga master. Hell I’m lucky I can touch my toes. This is so easy to follow love and the humour. My gym rat anti yoga husband watched me do it once, loved the video and has done yoga every night since. Looking to buy more from BBY. Great job bringing yoga to the less then flexible!

I have low back pain and chronic hip bursitis that makes walking painful and also impacts my ability to sleep. My left arm has limited mobility as well, so I wasn’t sure yoga would work at all. To my amazement, my husband was willing to do it with me. After the first session (Sharpen), we both felt better, generally. It leaves you feeling invigorated, yet relaxed. We actually look forward to feeling better and better, and we are telling family members about it!

I agree 100% with everything grolarbear already wrote. I’ve recently found the 10 min ab bonus and love it – challenging and a good length. Sometimes I’m just not up for a workout but can convince myself “it’s just 10 min, how hard can it be?” (answer = hard, but by then it’s too late). As a military retiree I’ve got lots of damaged parts. Even so, I’m still very active. I have tried other yoga videos (program, online, etc) and find this is a good beginner one. Good introduction to yoga for those of us who are not so flexible. Good instruction and pace. Often other videos flow too fast and you have to be uber-flexible to achieve the poses. I like to use the stretch routine after a hard workout, yard work or day of snowboarding.

I have NEVER felt compelled to write a review on a product. But, this has been a life changer for me. I am 51 and was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. I had a great deal of lower back pain and discomfort. I was frustrated because I was gaining weight and could no longer do my normal work out to lose weight. I was also lacking flexibility and had a tough time even bending over to tie my shoes. I was frustrated and searched online and fortunately found this program. I have seen incredible results in the past 90 days. This is something that I want to do because of how great I feel. I have gotten much stronger; have greater flexibility; lost weight and look leaner; and have more energy. I can acutually see muscles that I have not seen in 20 years! It is amazing the great results in such a short period of time! I know that this sounds like I am a paid spokesperson, but I am just a guy that got frustrated with the way I felt. I also wanted to write this review because I just purchased the latest program, Yoga Strong. I would have a difficult time with the poses if I had not spent time learning the basics with this program. Do yourself a favor if you want to look and feel better…try this.

Yoga is introduced in a manner that is easy to imitate and after a few weeks I have indeed noticed improved balance and strength in my arms, abs, and legs. Unfortunately I have also managed to aggravate an old lower back injury with this program–I think I have been getting too deep into the poses and my back pain has worsened, not improved! My spine pops a lot now, and it’s making me nervous! I noticed that even he has a lot of LOUD popping of joints as he steps and bends, so I’m a little worried that there is something a bit off with the routine. I think this was worth getting to start off, allowing me to learn the poses and movements, but I think it has way too much spine work, and could easily result in another bad injury if I’m not careful. I think I will try adapting the workouts–and keep the back stretches very, very limited.

This is the yoga program you have been waiting for. No more injuries. No need to be a contortionist. No silly new age stuff. Just a really challenging workout. Dean really takes time to explain how to get into the poses and how to get the most out of each pose. The pace is fairly slow but the workout is tough, especially the “strength” video. There’s also a great stretching routine you can do after your other workouts. I tried Ashtanga and other forms of power yoga but this one is the best I’ve found. Buy it! You won’t be disappointed and you will get in great shape.

I’ve been using this for a while and it’s a great work out. There are 4 basic workouts: Sweat, Strength, Stretch, and Sharpen. The title says it’s for beginners but it is a good workout that you can make more challenging as you progress. Each routine is 20 -25 minutes. The thing I like about it is that the exercises work your balance, flexibility, strength, and lots of muscles I don’t normally exercise. I also appreciate the stretching; I can see why athletes would like this for injury prevention. I used this to replace the Tony Horton program I was using. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tony Horton’s routines. They are rigorous and I lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks doing his Hard Corps routine. But I’m getting older and I need something that is challenging but won’t make me dead tired when I’m done. This is a happy medium. I’ve also found that I’m firming up all over, abs, legs, and arms. It’s worth buying.

Dean and his yoga programs have made a huge impact on my life! When I discovered Yoga Boost (speficially Yoga Sweat) I was extremely overweight. I was in the worst shape I’ve ever been in. I had hit rock bottom physically and mentally.

I stumbled his work outs and decided to give them a try. Honestly the rest is history. I do yoga now 7 days a week. His workout are short but intense. If I can, some days I’ll fit in 2 workouts.

When I started doing Dean’s programsI was pushing 330 pounds. My blood pressure was through the roof. I was suffering from sleep apnea and depression. I’m now just about 250 pounds and in the best shape of my life.

Doing yoga has opened so many other doors in my life. I’ve started running and working out regularly. Hell, my sex life has improved, a lot! If that’s not a good reason to try his programsI don’t k ow what is!

I absolutely love this video! I mainly do the sharpen and stretch segments of the video, and I feel a huge difference in my back not being so tight. I am a dental assistant so keeping loose muscles is very important. My massage therapist even said she noticed a huge difference with me being more loose and it had been 7 weeks! I usually go every 4 to 5. I use this video a couple of times a week, if not every day and I love it! I can’t recommend this video enough for anyone who needs to loosen up a tight back! I’ve been telling all of my dental assisting friends about it!

I like this program. The guy is very personable. He looks like he wouldn’t be but you can tell he is quite flexible. He’s got a friendly soothing voice which goes well with the idea of doing yoga. I do wish he didn’t wear a shirt the whole time — the cover is a bit misleading. I don’t mean this in a piggish way but I know from classes I have taken that either tight fitting clothing or going shirtless allows a student a better understanding about what muscles are being used/flexed and to what degree.

The program comes with some offers about additional info on a website which I checked out but haven’t done anything with. I am still on the beginner lesson and expect to be for some time.

I am a woman who just received this program 2 days ago and have already used it twice. Don’t let the picture on the front fool you, this is GREAT for women! I LOVE IT! I am a complete beginner to yoga, have never done it before so I didn’t know what to expect and was a little nervous. The instructor is very clear and thorough in explaining the positions and the benefit of each position. I’ve done all 4 workouts on the program and each one of them is excellent and unique in their own way. I suffer from disc degeneration in my lower back and after only 2 workouts I can feel my back becoming stronger without putting any stress or pain on it. I never thought I could be so sore from yoga, I feel like I just spent all day at the gym, but instead got to enjoy (yes ENJOY) this workout from the comforts of my home where there is no judgement. I look forward to continuing the use of this program in hopes of strengthening my body and my confidence. Thank you, Body By Yoga for such a great, uplifting workout regimen. I highly recommend anyone looking to try yoga to give this program a try. You won’t regret it!

I bought this to do with my mom. It’s not just for men or targeted towards men. I don’t know why everyone thinks that just becasye the instructor is a man lol. But this program is great for beginners and has a few really awesome harder sessions. Which I love! I feel so much better in just a week and can tell a difference in my attitude, posture, flexibility and even a little weight loss. I can’t wait to move to a harder type of program in the future but this is one of the best instructors ever. He goes slow and explains everything in detail. My 3 year old even does it with us!

I just received this program. It is my first real experience with yoga. For some years I had been thinking of trying yoga, but when reading about other programs one can get on program, I was somewhat turned off. It was due to the chimes, prayers, and chants all done on these exotic, tropical looking beaches. When Yogaboost came up on Amazon, it caught my attention. Upon reading the description, I thought, now THIS is what I might be able to handle. The week that I have had this program, I have been doing only the Sharpen section. Already I have more neck rotation and flexability. There still is a bit of tolerable pain, but at least I can turn my head to the sides and up and down. I am looking forward to advancing to the other programs.

I am not a limber, touch your toes kind of guy. I have, however, done quite a bit of DDP Yoga over the last 5 years. It has been great..

I would like to say that Yoga Boost has been every bit as beneficial as DDP Yoga. The workouts are 25 minutes +/-. The Strength workout goes toe to toe with the 50+ minute Diamond Cutter. Dean’s stretch workout is excellent, and as my title states, I am not a limber guy, but I am seeing progress.

I am not an expert of what does, or does not, make the “best” yoga workout, but Yoga Boost is working for me. Give it a try.

Good workout. The only complaints I have are that he tends to spend noticeably more on one or the other side when doing poses that alternate between left and right and that he keeps using a phrase, “tailbone reaching down” or “reach your tailbone down”, that doesn’t appear to mean anything in terms of what the human body actually does.
However the routines are effective and short enough for even an impatient guy like me to get through. I would recommend this to anyone looking to start exercising from a place of relative unfairness, as I did.

Got this to workout with my Middle School age son.
    We both HIGHLY recommend it!

    No girls in skimpy outfits.
Dean wears a tshirt and shorts, and seems like a smart, down-to-earth guy.
No machismo, just honest and unfeminine.
Music is a soft-rock. Setting is in a styled gym.
My son is loving seeing results. Igniting a passion for fitness.

Work as hard or easy as you want. There are different workout options to keep you going on days when you’re sore or don’t feel like doing anything.

I recommend this for moms who want to responsibly support their son’s masculinity in a man-hating world.

It’s ok. Nothing great and i really don’t understand what all of the fanboy comments are for? I guess people are clinging on to the fact that the yoga instructor is handsome, but honestly that’s where the rubber meets the road. This felt, to me, like a yoga video made by a student for students. And it has no subtitles, which is something needed for the hearing impaired. I recommend that you look up Rodney Yee or some other, more established yoga instructor if you want a decent yoga video. Or even BKS Iyengar, but not this guy. Sorry, but this is a fail for me unless you are very new to yoga.

I am finally trying yoga in my 40’s because my knees are begging for a break.

This is the PERFECT beginner program. This guy is GREAT at explaining the moves, what you’re supposed to do to get the best out of the workout. I have been doing this a couple times a week for a month and I’m already stronger and leaner and more flexible.

The program is broken down into segments that are 25-30 minutes so you can get a good workout in a short time or for more of a challenge do two segments at a time.

Love the program and how he gets personal and talks to you normally like he’s there in the room doing a one on one session then most people where they make yoga feel weird just the way they do it and explain it and if you keep with the routine and change it up it gets intense, I’m a member and the website gets better and better, since I started working on yoga I’ve been more flexible in my sport(Soccer-Goalkeeper) and I’ve been in less pain. My muscle tone is strengthening more than expected. Keep it going Dean.

I love this so much! !! Sometimes it’s hard being a beginner, and feeling like you may not be able to do it correctly, or get the benefits out of something new.
This program is the answer! I have definitely not been paid or compensated in any way for this review.
I knew that I needed to try something new. I have injuries that made it difficult to do a lot of different exercises. I know that I need to increase mobility, balance, and increase flexibility, while gaining strength and endurance.
I have about 50 pounds to lose at this point, and I believe this program is going to be a key to my longterm success.
This program is so easy to follow, and it gives other alternatives if certain parts are difficult. It feels okay to be a beginner, and I don’t get lost at all while trying to follow along.
I’m so thankful that I took the step in purchasing this.

I could not deal with this program. My biggest problem was trainers who begin a program where the participants are instructed to get on the floor and face the floor. I cannot watch the program and exercise at the same time…my head is facing downward, not up at the tv screen. I realize at some point many programS or programs will have exercises where you are facing the floor, but to start out that way is a problem for me. I at least want a warm-up, some arms and core before getting on the floor and facing away from the screen. I have dozens of programs so I am not about to memorize each one. My goal is to shake things up and begin my work-out, not study the darn thing for several times. I would not recommend this program.

I started yoga with YogaBoost in 2017 to supplement my running. In addition to improving my form, I also lost 10 pounds in the process by participating in a Dean Pohlman Challenge using the routines in the program.

The Challenge kickstarted my daily habits, to include modifying my dietary habits. Now I don’t start a day without a yoga workout, whether I’m running or not. I’d had seen a physical therapist for problems with my feet, and these exercises build what I learned with the therapist and took it to the next level.

Dean Pohlman is able to provide excellent narration and instruction while he performs the same workout…always amazed he can effortlessly talk and workout at the same time as I’m challenged to do the same pose.

In addition to the program I also bought a copy through Amazon Video so I have access even while on the road. I’ve also taken this to the next level by becoming a member of Dean Pohlman where I have access to all of Dean’s workout video library…there are workouts for whatever you’re focus is on…upper body, lower body, chest, back, hips, shoulders, restorative stretches…whatever your desire or need. His site is easy to search and save the workouts for easy access, you can even add them to your iCal/Google calendar.

Dean’s a focused entrepreneur, constantly innovating and providing new content (video and articles/blogs), advice, and challenges to those that follow him. He has a bright future. I strongly recommend you start with the program; you’ll get hooked like I did and then become a member of Dean Pohlman. I’ve already given this as a gift to others.

I have been using the program since its release and really enjoy the routines. Dean’s instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the focus is on doing the poses correctly, rather than running through a sequence. I have taken yoga classes in the past, but prefer to work out at home these days. I own other yoga program programs, but they only have one routine, unlike the four that are included on this program.

I have integrated yoga into a diet and fitness routine that has resulted in a 40 pound weight loss so far this year. It’s nice to feel muscle groups working without straining, and I enjoy the sweat I work up during the Strengthen and Sweat routines. Two of the programs are about 25 minutes, and the other two are about 20 minutes, making any one of them easy to do in the morning before getting ready for the day. Highly recommended.

This program has allowed me to get into yoga, and allowed me to get into ranges of motion I had lost because of today’s lifestyles.

I really enjoy doing the workouts in these programs and have noticed small visual differences in my muscle already being small and lean. You won’t get huge muscles from yoga but you will absolutely see gains and fat loss from doing controlled ranges of motion and transitioning between poses.

I liked the program so much I bought a second for a gift to my parents, I also have an Ebook from Dean, Dean Pohlman products are great. Dean is an awesome guy who cares about his followers and I’ve been a fan since I heard the podcast he was featured on with Ben Greenfield sometime last year.

Excellent program for beginners. Dean/Yoga Boost instructions are easy to follow and challenging. You will grow with this program. I used to suffer from lower back pain, weekly visits to chiropractor, but following his steps, I rarely go anymore. This program along with cardio and light weight training, has made my core stronger, more flexible, and lose weight. I cant recommend this program enough. You wont be sorry.

I began my foray into Yoga with Dean because I was looking for a patient Yoga instruction, without the distraction of the spirituality that you find in most Yoga programs. This program is geared toward beginners, but provides a necessary sharpening for those that are experienced in Yoga already. Dean has a patience in his instruction that you do not find in most fitness geared Yoga. He understands what the term “beginner” means, and thus does not throw out the most difficult of poses in a rapidity that no one but a lifelong yogi could keep up with. This program moves at a progressive pace, and allows you to feel and understand each and every pose. Whether you do the sections together, or separate, you’ll enjoy a great workout, and leave with a better understanding of Yoga. I cannot recommend Dean’s teachings more, both in this program and his other instruction.

Dean’s instruction is very thorough, easy to understand, and gets results. I started with Dean about a year ago and enjoy his videos. The best instruction I have ever had and I like the male focus. The video is very doable and can be adapted to many different levels starting at beginner. Everything I have purchased from Dean and Dean Pohlman has been top quality, including a mat, block, and strap. As well as other products he has recommended like knot out balls and rubber roller.

I am not a yogi whatsoever. I lift weights 5 days a week and yoga has never been a part of my routine. I noticed that as I get older I am getting a lot less limber, which I didn’t think was possible, so I looked for a “man” yoga. Something that was not too advanced, too fufu or too out of my element. This program fit that exactly. The teacher, or trainer, yogi, whatever he’s called, does an awesome job at showing you every move slowly, alternate movements if needed, and at a good pace. I do recommend, if you’re “less than flexible”, get a yoga mat and a yoga block. Trust me, the block allows you keep up and do all of the movements correctly.

This video is terrific! There are four separate workouts called Sharpen, Strength, Sweat, and Stretch. I have tried out all four workouts and really enjoyed them. My favorite was Sweat, an intense 25 minute session. I am a woman over 60 and have never done Yoga before, but I am a runner who also does floor exercise and weight lifting. These routines are a wonderful addition to my exercise regimen, challenging but not so difficult that I won’t keep it up! The instructor is very easy to follow and his voice is relaxing.

You can read this review if you like or don’t, but from a 40 year old, bulging L5 disc injury, ER nurse, on her feet 12 hours a day – 3 shifts per week in a crazy busy ER, refuses to give up running even though my lower back hurts, rarely ever stretches even though she should and knows better, never tried yoga in her life, 5’1″, 135lb woman, who is not ashamed to tell it….this program is worth trying. The instructor gives clear instruction, modifications are included, and it legit takes very little time out of your day. If you are like me and my husband a few weeks ago, looking for a yoga program for beginners and you’re reading reviews like we did, and averaging which program is getting the best review before you buy but you just can’t decide and are ready to give up – don’t give up, try this one. We really were impressed with it. My husband and I are realistic people, we know our bodies are aging, we’re not uberfit people, we stay moderately active but still have a little extra meat on our bones, we’re everyday people but this program fits us because we are beginners. I absolutely recommend this for anybody who wants to try their body at yoga.

I’m new to yoga. Wanted a program to teach me some basics so I didn’t embarrass myself in a group setting. I bought several beginner program series, this one is hands down the best. He uses and explains the blocks well, he goes through the moves slowly and clearly explains them. I’m 56 and in pretty poor shape from a sedentary desk job. This program is challenging but very well done. I have been doing it for 3 weeks now and am feeling stronger and like I have a clue about basic moves.

I can’t comment on other yoga workout programs because I haven’t tried them, but what I can comment on is this one.

As a yoga beginner, would I recommend it?

    HELL YEAH!

I can’t begin tell you what a difference yoga has made to my daily life, the way I feel, the way I look and the energy I have.

I have the download version of this program and have used it in conjunction with the Dean Pohlman website and it has given me a reason to get out of bed at 5am and do an hour of yoga every day.

I’m not a gym guy, don’t go running and haven’t done much in the way of fitness for many years but this programme is designed for people like me as well as suiting people who already work out.

It’s helped massively with my flexibility, pretty much cured lower back pain, morning aches are gone and a day at the desk doesn’t feel as bad with some yoga at either end.

All in all it’s a great introduction to yoga without the candles, incense and chanting. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy and some of the poses make you muscles burn and your legs shake.

Give it a go, everybody should. Best few bucks you’ll ever spend and a life changing purchase.

I’ve been working with Dean Pohlman program and new Guyoga program for about 8 months, and I have noticed a big difference in my physical well being. My body is much more toned than before I started with the program. I also am more flexible, and I find that I can do more bending and stretching than I was able to do previously. I never thought that I’d be able to do so much with my body, especially starting at my age (mid 60s). Another plus is the lessening of aching muscles, even after a day on the computer.

I’m in the midst of my second yoga challenge using the Guyoga program. As a yoga beginner, the 20-30 minute length of each workout sessions is perfect for me. They have allowed me to get toned and maintain my muscle tone. Having done some of the workouts multiple times, I now find that I can now hold poses and maintain balance for a respectably long duration compared with when I started!

The Guyoga program is structured to allow you to advance to intermediate and advanced levels by combining multiple workouts. During each workout session, Dean explains each pose and provides tips for improving the pose, thereby allowing you to get the most out of the workouts. His explanations help you understand which muscles and muscle groups are being worked.

I never thought that I’d get interested in yoga, but here I am months later: stronger, toned, and flexible.

Dean does a great job I’m moving on a bit to his online workouts. Participated in his first challenge and now the second.
I like his style, very low key and it doesn’t make me feel like he’a barking at me.
Definitely feeling a bit stronger, particularly in the legs and arms and more flexible, particularly in the hips, and better posture over all. A little firmer overall. Sometimes I need a shorter workout. Moving from running to lower impact activities-so the improved flexibility is much appreciated.

I absolutely love this yoga system (and have tried out many in the past). I used to take yoga classes quite regularly but am recovering from an injury, so I really appreciated the sections of the series that focus on muscle restoration and recovery between the other yoga workout sections (and my other workout regimes). Plus, I love how the workouts offer modifications for beginners or folks like myself, who aren’t ready to dive into a full fledged workout. That said, I am looking forward to diving in all the way as this product offers some great sequences to tone and strengthen muscle groups and get a really good workout. My father, who has never done yoga in his a life (a true beginner), also loved it! I appreciate the fact that this yoga series is applicable to men and women of all ages and all physical capabilities– This is truly a customizable and stackable system, which I never seen executed in such an effective or user-friendly way. I can’t wait to see what else this product line has to offer!

I’ve been using Dean Pohlman products for several years now, and love this new program – it’s my go-to routine five days a week. I’m in my sixties so balance and core strength are greater issues for me than flexibility, and this program targets both. As a mid-40s man, I have always been active and exercise regularly, mostly weight training and cardio. But with general body soreness and stiffness, the inevitable result of age, I wanted to help loosen myself up. The beginner routine of BBY was free with Amazon Prime. The first time I tried it, I REALLY felt it, so I knew that I should keep going. I did the routine 5-6 days a week for a month. It was great, so I ponied up the extra $ for the full set of 4. I’ve been thrilled with it and I really have seen results. Far less back joint stiffness, more flexibility and balance. It’s also taught me more effective stretches in general. I like Dean’s approach too. Not a goofy faux smooth voice over but an actual person talking to you as you do the exercises. And not a bunch of counting but instructions throughout so you don’t notice how long you are truly holding a pose.

The beginner routine is modified for less flexible folks. Now that I’ve gotten looser and stronger, I’ve gone online to find out what the ‘real’ poses (or used his other routines) are and I can just insert them into his routine. For example, when he does the beginner Chair Down Dog, I do the proper Down Dog.

I’ve tried some other brands, but after 10 minutes I turn them off and go back to BBY. I’m very happy with his routines.

I am not a guy, but I love this yoga video series.

If you aren’t that flexible, have never taken yoga in your life and are a little out of shape, this is a great way to get into it. Everything is clearly explained and alternative options are given for those of us who struggle just to touch our toes. Don’t think for a second that makes this a leisurely workout. If you take it seriously, you will notice that you can hold poses longer, stretch a little deeper, breathe a little easier and transition a little smoother every time you do it. After not being able to touch my toes when I started, a few weeks of this and I can easily bend down and touch the floor with my hands flat.

I’ve tried other videos and been irritated by the stupid music, breathless whispering of the instructor and inability to explain what the heck I’m supposed to be doing. This really is THE BEST way I’ve found to learn basic yoga poses and get some flexibility back.

Very good exercise video, three 20 minute segments which anyone can do, but which will raise your heart rate, make you sweat, and which you will feel in muscles you didn’t know you had. Don’t be afraid of the “yoga” label –if you know yoga you will recognize SOME of the moves, but most of them are re-imagined and taught in a very clear step by step manner. A great job, well worth the money.

Really accessible program, especially for beginners and the less flexible. It introduces yoga in a non-threatening way and is encouraging and totally great as a foundation for the future.

I came across a couple of Dean’s Youtube videos when I was doing a search for yoga geared towards guys. I am a bigger dude with and my flexibility sucks. I also travel 2-3 weeks out of the month. I have always had an interest in Yoga but was intimidated because even the “beginner” classes I have taken I have felt lost. Hard to find a good gym routine when hotels have all different kinds of gym and equipment.

After watching a couple videos on Youtube, I decided to hop on his website where I saw that Guyoga was just releasing. I bought it and started the program and WOW! I woke up muscles in my body that I didn’t even know existed! After the first workout, I was a sweaty mess, but really felt the best I felt in a long time. A sense of accomplishment and a bit of euphoria. Don’t get me wrong…as simple as this program is laid out and easy to follow, it’s still very much a challenge. But then again why would you buy a program that isn’t a challenge?! His directions are so easy to understand. He doesn’t assume you know all the yoga terminology and literally approaches yoga in an easy to understand way and a way that makes perfect sense to a bigger dude like me…progress, not perfection. I think the biggest compliment I could give him about this program, at least for me, is that I don’t have to be constantly looking at the screen and follow his every move. He has such a way of explaining the poses and what body parts to engage that just listening to him walks you through everything. Of course watching him helps with form, but I’m not constantly looking up and down at the screen. The workouts are also short and effective. I am too busy to sit there an chant and burn incense! (not that there is anything wrong with that!)

So flash forward to now, almost a month after I started the program. Do I have Ryan Reynold’s body now? Hardly. However, my flexibility and range of motion is so much better, my muscles are tightening (pants are looser in the waist), I sleep better and just feel better overall. And I am just beginning…I am in this now for the long haul. Not only can I touch my toes, I can actually see them as my belly is shrinking!

My biggest advice to couch potatoes like myself is to get the program and DO IT! At such a minimal investment, I have gotten so much out of it. It’s really been a catalyst for me to want to really reap the benefits of yoga….and look like Ryan Reynolds…or Dean! lol I’ll settle for the happier, healthier version of me! 🙂 Thank you Dean!

Excellent program, clear instruction, none of the woo, and sound biomechanical principles. Modifications for injuries and disabilities. Using it to regain mobility lost after some spinal injuries. Dean is a very good teacher and excellent communicator. And it’s nice to have a guy leading a class.

Dean has a way to explain the yoga positions in a clear and engaging way. The video is clear and at angles to give you details on the position you are trying to do. The instruction gives you different ideas to make the workout more difficult as you move through the video. I’m looking forward to the next video in the series.

I have tried Yoga off and on my whole life but this one does not leave me more frustrated with yoga than when I started! I happened to try the Yoga start when it was free and thought wow I can do this. I found the GUYOGA video and bought it. Not disappointed. I am a female so GUYOGA will work for you too ladies. I have bought Yoga for inflexible people and yoga for fat people and this one is hand’s down the best one I have tried. It has substantally reduced my sciatic pain I have been dealing with for YEARS! Can’t wait til you release more. Two thumbs up, way up!

Update; I would love to have a few more 20 min routines for the morning and another stretch routine for the evening.

I learned more in the first few minutes of Episode 1 than I have in the last year at the gym about doing a forward fold the right way and accomplishing the things it is supposed to accomplish. Doing yoga is just a different thing from doing it right. I’ve been waiting for the beginner’s corner for ever. Glad it’s finally here.

This is a great way to start practicing yoga, taking the physical techniques appart from the spiritual aspect and focused specially on men and for men by an inspiring instructor, the workouts are very well explained with tips and extra information about the body and how it works in a didactic way for non experienced users that really motivates you. It’s totally worth it.

This is a great program to get started. Dean explains the yoga moves and the details of the moves so you do them correct. I like the explanations on what muscle groups to use and how the moves improve certain joints and improve flexibility and mobility. I have gone through each of theses video and have repeated them and will continue to repeat them just to keep improving on the fundamental basics. I highly recommend this course.

I have been doing yoga since my early twenties and took a break at 35 due to an knee injury. I had been looking to get back into it and have followed Dean for a while working off of some of his ebooks off and on. I wouldn’t classify myself as a beginner, just someone that needed some brush up on correcting some body positions for certain stances.

I ran though the first two chapters of the video series and found them to be great, Dean gives good insights on increasing the intensity of positions as well as getting into the correct form on the onset. The pace is slow enough to concentrate on form. Something group classes can move too quickly though. I would recommend this video series to anyone who wants to get in a quick yoga workout without traveling and have schedule time for a group class always.

This is highly recommended to all, regardless of age or body type, for several reasons. First, the workouts are well-planned, vigorous and have specific focuses. Yet they are easy to adapt to your level of fitness. I feel no matter how little or much experience one has with Yoga you will get a lot out of these workouts. The workouts feel very personalized too and instructor has a good camera presence that makes it feel truly like a small workout class. However, what really makes this great, and separates them from the ton of content out there, is the instructor Dean and his style. He does a fantastic job of instructing, always makes everything very clear to understand and follow. You come away not only being able to get good a workout but also understanding the purpose behind and value of the movements he chose. Hopefully he will releasing more soon in this series and eventually developing a weekly workout program you can follow. Very satisfied and a bargain too.

I’ve been a user and believer in all of Dean’s series. I’m excited to see how he’s pulled his great lessons into these new programs. Great focus on the athleticism and strength training of yoga as an overall benefit to sports and health in general.

Update: I’ve been using Guyoga for a few weeks now and have had pretty remarkable improvements in my flexibility–especially my hip flexors, which has started to relieve my lower back pain. That’s something that a number of trips to the chiropractor couldn’t do.

I especially recommend the Stretch workout at the end of the day: it really does help you fall asleep faster. And it’s not just for guys. I’ve gotten my wife into the videos as well.

A great way for you to get started on your yoga journey and get fit at the same time. Dean does a great job of instructing and walks you through all of the poses. I am a yogi and find these routines a great compliment to an existing practice. If you have ever been curious about yoga this is the place to start! You won’t get all the spiritual stuff here and you can always jump into that later. Highly recommended

Not just for men. Yoga is definitely a way to get much stronger and look better in a tight T-shirt, for men and women. If you’ve wanted to try yoga, but don’t want to go to a studio for reasons of availability, money or embarrassment, this is a great way to start.

A clear demonstration of postures for yoga beginners, and the more advanced, too. Dean clearly explains and demonstrates what to do. Variations for people of differing strength and flexibility are given. He shows how to use a block for people who can’t reach the floor standing (you will be able to, soon.) The postures are basic to yoga, but chosen to exercise and strengthen all body parts. These sequences are challenging enough to be useful to anybody, but not get boring with repetition; every workout there is always another millimeter to stretch or another 10 seconds to hold a posture.

In a yoga class with lots of students, the instructor doesn’t have time to repeat things, and a beginner can lose track of what they are supposed to be doing quickly. It took me months in a big class to realize I wasn’t doing some important things, not easily visible to the instructor, correctly. With Guyoga, anybody can rewind and listen again to the instructor, to learn the poses faster.

This would be good not only for people wanting to do yoga, but as a great entry-level workout for almost anybody.

I’ve been following Dean for over a year and he has done nothing but improve my physical abilities. He is no joke when it comes to yoga and movement. If your looking for yoga without all the spiritual aspects this is for you. Weight’s are great but you need to master your body weight as well and Dean can help you get there!

If you’re new to yoga, or want to develop your poses and build strength, this video is for you. Dean is a great instructor and makes yoga accessible for those of us who don’t want the spiritual addition to yoga but want the benefits. While this is for beginners, it doesn’t mean it’s easy. Love this workout and would definitely recommend it.
