Runners and athletes everywhere should be doing yoga!
Yoga is an amazing practice that offers so many benefits. When it comes to athletes, yoga can be used on rest-days to stay moving or as a warm up or cool down before games, races, etc. The use of breathing techniques in yoga is beneficial for the muscles of the lungs and the diaphragm as well, strengthening them, and enhancing one’s control over one’s breathing.
Yoga is also a great way to increase mobility in the groin. This is especially important for long-distance runners and athletes in general because lack of groin mobility can lead to groin injuries. By increasing the mobility in the groin and making the muscles more flexible, a person is less likely to pull or tear the muscles.
