In this video we go over a few dynamic stretches to do before a workout or a run. Focusing on the legs we start off in a squat hold to warm up and engage your muscles. With this we’re stretching, strengthening and warming up your muscles before getting into higher intensity workouts. Stretching before a workout increases your range of motion and can help lower the chance of getting injured.
Since this pre-workout stretch is dynamic movement we’re moving our body throughout the whole stretch. Dynamic stretching helps prepare your muscles for more intense movement and workouts. Some other benefits of dynamic stretching is improving blood circulation, range of motion and coordination. You should always stretch for 5-10 minutes before a full workout. Whether you choose dynamic or static stretching, just make sure to know your bodys limit. Nothing can ruin a workout quite like a pulled muscle.
