Morning Yoga | Plank and Wild Thing Mini 2 Minute Sequence To Build A Better Morning Habit

Practicing yoga first thing in the morning is a great way to start your day. Getting your body moving and your blood pumping can help to energize you so that you are wide awake as you go about the rest of your day. Even two minutes of yoga in the morning can offer many benefits, and you can always work your way up to being able to do more as time goes on.

In the video above, we demonstrate a great routine to do first thing in the morning to keep you energized. The video includes plank pose (with the option of pushups), cobra pose, and wild thing. All of these poses are wonderful for core strengthening. In addition, wild thing offers a deep stretch for opening up the back and the chest while engaging the muscles of the arms and shoulders.

Cobra pose is a great way to increase strength in the back while decreasing any tension stored within it. It also gives a deep stretch in the chest and shoulders.

The video above is just one example of how to use a quick yoga routine to start your day off right. By practicing a morning yoga routine when you first get up, you are creating a wonderful morning habit that you can continue day after day.
