Power Yoga – Fun 2 Min Routine To Make A Traditional Runners Lunge Pose More Challenging

What is power yoga?

Power yoga is a popular form of the practice. It is similar to a vinyasa flow, but instead of constantly flowing from one pose to the next while linked with the breath, each pose will be held for a little bit longer to really experience the stretch. This allows you to really gain the benefits of the poses while promoting strong muscles throughout the body.

Did you know that power yoga poses can be modified for each individual person? In the video above, for example, you can see the use of blocks. Adding props to your practice allows it to be more accessible. The video above also looks into how to take a traditional pose– runner’s lunge–and it make more challenging for yourself. We demonstrate how to add turn the pose into a twist in order to receive a deeper stretch.

This pose is great for increasing strength in the thighs, glutes, and core, and it is a wonderful pose for athletes especially. For your safety, you must:

Use any equipment shown in the workouts only as demonstrated, using proper form.
Inspect any equipment for wear or damage prior to each use and refrain from using any equipment that appears damaged, worn or defective.

Always use a secure, proper, and stable anchor for any equipment that requires hanging or attaching.

Ensure your workout bench and pull up bar is stable, strong enough to hold your weight and does not move during use. If you do not think you can safely perform exercises with your bench or pull up bar, or you do not have the proper equipment, you should do the modifier exercises instead.
